Unfortunately, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association had to cancel the 2020 Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. due to the pandemic. Adams Electric Cooperative’s plan is to allow the juniors, who applied this year, to re-apply next year as seniors. Also, next year’s sophomores and juniors will be eligible to apply as usual.

During Youth Day, you will tour the Capitol, visit the Abraham Lincoln Museum and meet students from across Illinois. At the end of Youth Day, after brief interviews, four winners and two alternates will be announced! Winners will travel by charter bus June 19-26, 2020 for an all-expense paid tour of Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, June 19, heavy rains didn’t hinder the event which is usually held in Bailey Park. Instead, sixty-five students met at the Community Building in Camp Point.

Jun 25, 2019 · The 2019 youth tour delegates from Adams Electric included Paul Cornwell and Olivia Rodgers of Quincy and Adams Telephone students were Faith Boylen of Mount Sterling and Rylie Whitehead of Ursa. The students toured Capitol Hill and met with U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth and U.S. Representatives John Shimkus and Darin LaHood.
