    May 30, 2017 · I'm strongly considering the HPSP scholarship, but I've read alot of negative posts about GMO tours. My question is are GMO tours really that bad? I understand it postpones your residency, but from what I can tell is that they can still be rewarding life enhancing experiences.

    Jun 13, 2012 · My own personal belief is that using the military to fund your medical school education is not necessarily the best financial move anyway so it should mean that you want to serve in the military. Doing a GMO tour might delay your residency training, but it will give you exposure to other aspects of the service you might otherwise be sheltered from.
