If the tour eminates from Apollo Bay I would be inclined to take it if you are returning there for that night. You can most certainly take yourself there and walk the short track. You should be quite safe. BUT. its isolated, dark, very few people, no lights other than a torch ( otherwise you can't see the glowworms).
