The still house of Ardbeg is so small that the condensers of Ardbeg are on the outside of the building. This means the Ardbeg distillery has less building to maintain, but the copper surroundings of the condensers are subjected to a lot of corrosion and have to be replaced quite often. On the other hand, the condensers work better in the cool outside air instead than the heated still house.
