May 07, 2019 · I decided to take the Behind the Scenes Tour as it was the one that included a tour of the top 2 floors in addition to the first floor. If you take the standard tour, that one only includes the main floor. The price is a bit much in my opinion for this Behind the Scenes Tour at $65, but it was enjoyable.4/5(6.8K)

We did the Behind the Scenes tour last Oct. 3 of us ages 65 to 73. Stairs to dome took me a little more time, but didn't hold anyone up. Two of us had been to Monticello before. Unless you know for sure you will be returning again & you would do the BTS tour at that time, I'd say absolutely do it now & don't miss the opportunity.
