There are some of downsides to Contiki tours, for example they are expensive, the food and accommodation can be basic for what you pay and you are treated a bit like cattle (especially during peak season), but I still have good memories of them.

Jul 21, 2015 · I think any tour is worth it though. I have done a contiki (europe) and on the go tour (egypt). Both were very good but there was a significant difference in the partying focus as well as additional activities with the contiki tour. on the go was much quieter and more time for rest.

Dec 25, 2013 · I agree with Deneo123's pro/con list – I had my first big solo trip on a contiki tour a couple of months ago, and whilst I had fun, it probably wasn't for me. I did the Great Britain and Ireland 16 Day Tour, so we had shorter drives (2-3hrs) and longer stays, but the 6/7/8am wake ups were KILLING me in the end, haha.
