Jul 11, 2009 · We went on the Copper Canyon tour and definitely enjoyed the "long" day. There were about 400 HAL passengers that took the trip and we didn't hear any complaints. People knew in advance that it would be a long day but the scenery and experience of being there made getting up so early worthwhile. Hopefully you will get to enjoy it someday!

You need to ask them about it if you're on their cruise.It may be possible to book your own tour, but the cruise line is making sure you leave and return at times for their schedule. The cruise is really amazing especially the ports in the Sea of Cortez, very small and not overloaded with tourists. I have never done the Copper Canyon Tour, but some of my fellow crew members (complimentary) and many passengers I got to know.
