Definitely worth it, at least in my view, assuming we're referring to the same type of tour. As described in the previous comments, a "DMZ Tour" isn't a proper DMZ tour unless it actually takes you into the DMZ itself - which half-day excursions packaged as "DMZ tours" won't.

Oct 18, 2016 · Make sure you get a JSA tour .. you will get right up to the DMZ where the next stop is North Korea. It is so worth it! You only get 4 minutes in the buildings for photos, but you can step over the DMZ line and put your feet in North Korea. There are two types of DMZ tour. One takes you to a location outside the DMZ and allows you to look into it. This type of tour is advertised as a DMZ Tour. You get to see an infiltration tunnel, to visit an observatory, and Dora San station. The other is a JSA tour that takes you INTO the DMZ.This needs security clearance, military escort etc.
