Mercury Direct is a UK based Travel Agency and as such will be at least 50% more than if you bought a Vietnamese organised tour. What Mercury do is just get a VN agent to do the tour and charge you an exorbitant rate. Unless your tour is fully escorted you are simply throwing money away, and for your trouble if something goes wrong half way through your tour who are you going to call ?

You can do all this yourself by using the net to plan your trip and seek out online Vietnamese agents, after all Mercury will only use the same guides etc., unless you are asking for a fully escorted tour, in which case the cost is even more inflated.
