Aug 21, 2006 · Except that a SWTI tour isn't really a disassociated sea tour, it's a Super JO tour in lieu of a dis. assoc. sea tour. Hence why they're harder to get. @Skid: Well put. And not only what you said, but they need the bodies, as well, and they need to be aviators of some kind.

Aug 24, 2006 · As I understand it, your disassociated sea tour is like our FAC tour. Time out of the cockpit doing what "the backbone of the service" does. You can shout at the rain all you want, but the experience is broadening in many other ways than just doing whatever assigned tasks come your way (shooting airplanes, standing duty, etc).

Aug 21, 2006 · There are cases in each platform for people that will not have a Disassociated Sea Tour. I will not have one because of being a Super JO Viking to COD transition guy. I know also know guys that went from shore tour to DH tour but that was because of the T-Notch.
