Welcome to the Kiwi forum Adam :). My suggestion - forget the cruise and simply do the tours - you will see/experience so much more.. The issue with trying to see Alice Springs on a cruise is that AS is a 30 hour drive from Sydney - each way - or a 3.5 hour flight - each way.. Plus the best of NZ is inland - you will see, experience far more by doing a land tour than you will from a ship.
