May 10, 2020 · This is a self-paced tour; the homes can be visited in any order. An attractive photo-filled keepsake program with a map and descriptions of all the homes will be provided to each ticket holder on the day of the tour at Home Tour Headquarters (Juniper @ 6th Ave.) The homes are within walking distance for the average person.

Free tours of Historic Escondido are offered as part of the Second Saturday museum and gallery event every month. All walking tours start at 10:00 am at the southeast corner of Broadway and Grand. The 90-minute tours cover Old Escondido East, Old Escondido West, Downtown, and there's even a tour of places that are no longer there!

The lot on which this home sits was purchased on April 5, 1888 by Mr. R.S. Hick from the Escondido Land and Town Company for the sum of $175. Hick built the Italianate house at the corner of 7th and Broadway in 1887; the property extended from 7th to 9th. In 1907, the Hicks sold this part of the property for $550 to C.A. Stammer.
