This house was constructed in 1678 and leased to the Nurse Family by Reverend Allen. Rebecca Nurse was accused of practicing witchcraft, tried, and hanged in 1692. The house remained in the Nurse family until 1784, when it was sold to Phineas Putnam. Currently, the homestead belongs to the Danvers Alarm List Company, and functions as a museum.
