Feb 01, 2013 · As locals to Snibston, we've visited the Discovery Park several times in the past few years. My 9 year old loves it, especially the interactive displays. You MUST take the colliery tour, which is an excellent way to learn about the reality of the mining industry. Our guide was Bryan, who had worked at Snibston when it was a working colliery.4/5

Aug 16, 2010 · Snibston Mining Museum, Coalville The original pit head. I visited the Snibston Museum last week. Fascinating place with lots to see. Recommend the Colliery tour for the extra £1.25. They haven't tarted it up at all since closure in c1984. I'm sure there a miners snap tin in one the lockers with an egg sandwich in it :)Views: 1.7K
