Launched in the late 1970s by a small but visionary group of island potters, the tour morphed into a wider display of many art mediums by the early 1990s.

In a statement, Brian Fisher, president of Vashon Island Visual Artists (VIVA) said that the group’s board and members are considering a path forward and options including rescheduling the tour.

The Holiday Tour December 7-8 & 14-15 Founded in the 1970s by a small group of Vashon artists, the Studio Tour has evolved into VIVA with some 300 member artists. Studio Tour is still an important bi-annual event and tradition that’s always held the first two weekends in May and December. Vashon’s creative spirit is steeped in rural and idyllic Island life.

In early March, the group was one of the first arts organizations on the island to respond to the coronavirus crisis, canceling plans for their 2020 Spring Art Studio.
