I think the tram tour may be the best use of our time. We'd really like to see the upper grove as well as the lower but hiking the trail would take a fair bit of time. (That and the fact we'd like to do another trail or two the same day so we may need to save some energy!)

At the top of the loop, the tram stops at a small cabin where there is now a small museum and gift store.(Many years ago there was a lodge at that location.) If you want even more time to commune with the redwoods, you can choose to hike back down from that location, or from the last stop, the tunnel tree.
